Hello all you bloggers out there. I set this blog up for you gals last year, and I am very happy to see that it became so popular. I think it has been a fun and interesting diversion for all of you. You also have probably learned some valuable lessons, not only about “netiquette”, but also about dealing with your friends in general. And, for that matter, it’s good practice with the computer and with developing your writing skills. That’s all good, and I’m glad you all have enjoyed it. There are more things that you can do with the blog, and I hope it continues to grow and flourish.
I have tried not to interfere with what goes on here, and just add a post here and there for fun. But, in the end, everyone has to realize that this blog will continue only if I let it continue. A few negative things have happened on the blog, and I would like to see those things stop. No, check that – they will stop or the blog will stop.
First, I am officially putting an end to the practice of anonymous posts. You can use a “pen name” in the name section, as most of you do, but if you do, you have to identify yourself (first name only) somewhere in the post. No exceptions.
Second, if you have a problem with someone specifically, do not air it publicly on the blog. Problems like that should be dealt with in person or over the phone, one on one. Most of you read the Bible, and my Bible says that if your neighbor has offended you, you start by going to that person directly. Only if that doesn’t work do you bring a friend along. Private matters should always be handled privately, wherever possible — it’s a hard lesson, but all of you have to learn it.
Anyway, please continue to have fun with the blog. I’m sure activity will die down a little over the summer, as the weather gets nice. But that’s OK — we’ll be opening the pool soon, and hanging out with your friends in the pool is lot more fun than hibernating in front of a computer!!!
